A small house or apartment will have a small kitchen. Some big houses have small kitchens too, especially in Nigeria. I know kitchens do have cupboards, but not all cooking equipment will fit in, and if you don’t know how to manage your small space, it will be a mess. I had this problem in the past, but I was able to come out of it by doing just 3 things.

These three things are:

• Do not buy kitchen equipment or appliances you don't need.
  

Buy small kitchen appliances that have many uses. Instead of purchasing a microwave and an oven, simply purchase an oven that can also microwave.Another example is that instead of buying a knife holder, spoon holder, and plate holder, just buy a dish rack that can hold everything in one place. A dish rack saves lots of space because it has different sections for different types of kitchenware. This item is a must-have for a small kitchen. This cost is between N3,000 and N8,000, depending on the quality and size.

• Use the wall for storage. There is no small kitchen without a wall. There are different types of kitchen wall hangers that can hold recipes, cooking spoons, and other little cooking tools. Example are wall shelf hanger, sponge holder, kitchen towel wall clip, etc.
